History of Heritage Valley

Heritage Valley Town Centre was established in 2009 through the adoption of the Heritage Valley Town Centre Neighbourhood Area Structure Plan (NASP). It is bounded on the west by the future extension of 127 Street SW, north by the future 25 Avenue SW, east by the future extension of James Mowatt Trail SW, and south by Heritage Valley Neighbourhood 9. The majority of the houses and facilities in this neighborhood are still under construction. The new builds include townhouses, semi-detached homes, and apartments. Also, there are major future development plans that will come to the neighborhood. Notable ones include the extension of the LRT and the construction of a 350-500 bed health-care facility. 

Heritage Valley Town Centre Schools

Currently, there is no school in this neighborhood, however, there are plans to build a 1,800 student public high school that will be adjacent to the shopping centre. Schools near the neighborhood include Dr. Lila Fahlman School(k-9) in Allard neighborhood, St. Thomas Aquinas Elementary/Junior High Catholic School in Desrochers neighborhood, and Donald R. Getty school (K-9)  in Chappelle Gardens.
