Brookside History

The land that Brookside sits on was annexed to the city of Edmonton in 1960. About half of the residences in Brookside were constructed before 1970. The remaining residences were completed by 1980. The neighbourhood is represented by the Riverbend Community League. Brookside is bounded on the east by Whitemud Creek Ravine, west and south by Whitemud Drive, and north by the river valley.

Brookside Recreational Amenities

Brookside has two parks: Brookside Park and William Bramley-Moore Park. Brookside Park features a playground, toboggan hill, bike track, and soccer field, while the nearby Riverbend Community League offers various programs, including yoga, day camp and maintains an ice rink. William Bramley-Moore Park is a small green space perfect for relaxation.

Immediate access to Whitemud Creek Ravine means residents can enjoy the extensive ravine trail system. Popular spots in the ravine include Rainbow Valley Campground and Rainbow Valley Park which offer lots of nature trails to explore.
