Brander Gardens History

Brander Gardens is named after George Brander, a peony gardener who moved to Alberta in 1921. His peony garden was located in the Bonnie Doon area and was a major supplier of peonies until the 1940s. About 75% of Brander Gardens residences were built during the 1970s, while a few were built during the 1960s and 1980s. Apartment-style condos and condominiums in low-rise buildings are the majority by 36%, while single-family homes take up 30%. The remaining are spread out between row houses (24%) and duplexes (10%). The neighbourhood is bounded on the east by Whitemud Drive, south by Ramsay Heights neighbourhood, and north and west by the North Saskatchewan River Valley.

Brander Gardens Recreational Amenities

Brander Gardens location offers lots of recreational opportunities. The neighbourhood features pathways perfect for walking and biking, and a huge park at the centre provides an open space for picnics and relaxation.
